I have set up a linux box with dhcp and tftp, and I am using docsis configurator to produce .bin files.
All of our modems have received this file, and everything works fine, but now I need to change configuration file to 2 of our modems. I need to change them so that they use different upstream port than the others.
Since they have our old config file in them, how do I tell them that they need to download a new config file ?

Hi,
I need some help or ideas how to redirect new registered cable modems to a registration page and how to redirect deactivated ones to some other web page.
Can this be done with config file for the modem?
Please post any ideas on this :P
Hello,
we are trying to set up cable internet service for a small campus network. One of our sponsors sent us a used Arris CMTS 1000 device. No documentation came with it, but I have found some papers on the internet. One of manuals stated that LVn provisioning software came with the device. Can somebody point me to the location where we can download said software ?
We have had a few customers report Downstream speed issues after switching from QPSK to 16QAM on our upstreams. These modems, however, hit their Upstream Speed caps every time. When QPSK is set back to that upstream, the downstream speeds return.
Example - 5Mb/512kbps Config File
QPSK - 4.8Mb/500kbps speed test
16QAM - 600kbps/500kbps speet test
(These are speed tests that are run inside our network)
Basic Info:
The modem used is a Motorola SB 5101, the CMTS is a Motorola BSR-1000
well the topic says it all modems on my network get that error in the modem shell (diagnostic one) SB5100 with shelled firmware are getting the error:
Bandwith request failure! Status = 0
I can not figure out why this is happening.
Any ideas?
thanks
