I'm working on a setup to manage all of my modems in terms of creating a customer database in sql and making all of their statistics available from within their account. So far, I've written every stitch of code myself and it's quite tedious. I was curious if there are any open source solutions that can be modified to fit the description i've got. mainly, I'd like to be able to quickly search for a customer, pull up their account and see registration info, docsis counters/stats and maybe graphed info(that's what is slowing me up a bit right now).

Does have any one can teach me the MTA config file ?

in the packetcable 1.5 spec
if use BASIC.1 service flow need to add the ConfigHash in the configuration file as below :
SnmpMibObject pktcMtaDevProvConfigHash.0 HexString 0xe82f54721b2af60127e0902b354f19d0e3aa9820 ;

but how to calculation the Config Hash ?
or have any function can pass the hash check ?

Hi, I have problem with few "zombie" hosts in my network. When I use show cable host at my CMTS, in listed addresses is my gateway address. Is there any possibility to filter this at cable modem? Example query: C3#show cable host 172.21.73.240 MAC Address IP Address Type 0008.a1af.6253 172.21.73.249 learned 0008.a1af.6253 77.71.18.34 learned 0008.a1af.6253 77.71.45.82 learned 0008.a1af.6253 192.168.1.1 learned <--- gateway 0008.a1af.6253 85.224.128.170 learned

Does anyone ever apply "cable event priority alert 0x0-0xF" option ?

Dear all
I'm just wondering whether anyone ever try to log cable modem message logging with "cable event priority alert" option ?
and there is a different value with that and don't exactly know what to set..
from the cisco they show the example like below :

cable event priority emergency 0x70
cable event priority alert 0x70
cable event syslog-server 122.3x.xxx.xx

just want to get some advice on the config above.

P.S Also want to know whether other company products support that option as well.

We provide internet and cable for a handful of apartment complexes ranging between 100 and 500 tenants per complex. Internet subscribers on these sites range between 20 and 200 (with possible future growth to around 400). Currently we are using C9Networks CMTS's, which have the CMTS, upconverter and all related servers (DHCP, tftp, tod) in a single box. We are in the process of expanding our internet offerings at the larger properties and are looking for a more robust, better scalable solution.

How to setting up CMTS BSR 2000.

Hello
I need setting up CMTS BSR 2000. I read manual for this CMTS and test setting something command but configuration is no ok.
Maybe anybody have example configuration for this CMTS ?
Over it I need something software to managing CM (adding ,removing, ...) .

Does anybody know how we can block traffic between hosts behind cable modems connected to the same Arris C3 CMTS? And could we define it based on IP subnet or protocol?

SNR and CNR Levels

Hi all,

Is there anyone who can tell me what the values of SNR and CNR must be to have an good signal.

And if my levels are bad, what will happen?
e.g. will my upstream drop from 16qam to qpsk, or will it yust be dead?

I now have: SNR 22.6dB and CNR 20dB. I expect thats a bit low ?

During testing, i've discovered that my US is in QPSK, although my CMTS modulation profile is:
cable modulation-profile 222 request 0 16 0 22 16qam scrambler 152 no-diff 32 fixed qpsk1 1 2048
cable modulation-profile 222 initial 5 34 0 48 16qam scrambler 152 no-diff 64 fixed qpsk1 1 2048
cable modulation-profile 222 station 5 34 0 48 16qam scrambler 152 no-diff 64 fixed qpsk1 1 2048
cable modulation-profile 222 a-short 4 76 7 22 16qam scrambler 152 no-diff 64 shortened qpsk1 1 2048
