Hi, everyone

Recently we've been testing a small Chineese CMTS in our network. One strange observation: MaxRateSustained in the cable modem config file is not being respected. Any cable modem can use all bandwidth the CMTS can provide for download. So, I'm a bit puzzled. Does the CMTS has anything to do with MaxRateSustained config parameter? In other word, does it has to be supported somehow in CMTS as well as in cable modem in order to work properly?

Hello all,

I have a problem with the Motorola 3100,4100,4200 cable modems. Whenever the power goes out, the power cable on those cable modems need to be unplugged and plugged back in to resync. Is there a firmware upgrade that can fix this? It's a simple fix, but it would sure save a lot of phone calls every time there is a thunder storm?

Hello, I'm having problems trying to configure an eMTA Scientific Atlanta model: dpc2203c there seems to be a problem with the dialing time, after pressing the first buttom number on the phone the softswitch replies with "number no valid ......", seems like the time for dialing is not enough, is there a mib that needs to be configured so the dialing by tone be recognized by this eMTA ??. The extrange thing is that other eMTAs works fine with the actual bin file I'm using. Any ideas ???. Thanks.-

I'm attempting to turn up a new remote property and am having issues with tftp. I'm currently sitting in the DHCP server using tcpdump to watch a modem try and boot. I can see the full DHCP handshake and the request from the modem for the config file. I can see the server sending the file...but it never makes it back to the modem. I am looking to monitor the following parameters on an Arris C3 CMTS:

* CPU load
* Memory Usage
* Disk space

I have a bunch of MIBs and I was able to get the OID for the CPU load (enterprises.4115.1.4.3.4.1.9) but I am still trying to get the OIDs for the memory and the disc space.

If someone could provide those two OIDs, I'd greatly apprciate it.

A grizzled cable modem vet here, but new to DOCSIS -- with many questions.

Going from the proprietary LCn provisioning server/CMTS frontend, MS Access backend,
SNMPc management, to a uBR 7246 and docsis-server3.5 on CentOS. Currently have an
all-in-one lab setup on the uBR and a handful of Surfboards up and running, so have at
least gotten that far. Next is getting docsis-server into the mix for additional testing prior
to some real deal field trials. Question number one is where is a nice php webgui frontend

Continually I come back to this error:

I know moust of people here are IP experts :) , but I belive someone can help me with this one to. We are in a search for some kind of field instrument for balancing return chanel and other docsis measurment. What I whant is something simple not to costly but to get job done.
