As of today there is no firmware, available on Motorola's site to enable SIP on any of the SBV models. They have been promising since forever that they will have this capability but no word on it in quite a while.

This release supports SIP signaling and calls control for SBV5222 E-UE product family. This release supports the Packet
Cable 2.0 specification as specified by the Cable Labs. This release provides basic call capability and the following residential
calling features:
• Caller ID Display (Calling Name and Calling Number)
• Call Hold
• Call Waiting
• Call Transfer
• Outbound Caller ID Blocking
• Inbound Anonymous Call Blocking
• Three-Way Calling
• Message Waiting
• Do Not Disturb.
• Emergency Calls
• Extended Off hook Processing

It would be great if there's any chance for SIP for that model of cable modem to work with Asterisk
