I'm setting up a Docsis 1.1 uBR7223 on a small rural catv plant. We're using 25 channels for TV (2-25) and our bandwidth is about 230Mhz. Without losing any TV channels, which frequency can I use for Downstream? Which is known to work best and do any of these require FCC or FAA permits/reporting? What do I need to look out for?
Hi
When I type in the C3 scm x.x.x.x detail I have the last 4 lines that say :
Total US Data : xxxx packets, xxxxxxx bytes
Total US Throughput : x bits/sec, x packets/sec
Total DS Data : xxxx packets, xxxxxxx bytes
Total DS Throughput : x bits/sec, x packets/sec
I need to know if its possible to get the values "Total US Throughput" and "Total DS Throughput" using SNMP or I must calculate them.
We are using cisco cnr version 7 and have always used inneoquest compbination ta's and cable modems. We have gotten a batch of arris modems and our phone provider says we need to point them to there provisioning server use option 122 in the dhcp server.
It's a nice modem. Wireless, 4 port ethernet for home networking and two phone jacks.
Problem is it doesn't stay online. finds downstream, locks on upstream does the dhcp, gets a basic or bpi file (tried bare bone and bpi, bpi+). goes online and few minutes later it goes offline and starts all over again. Haven't done a capture yet. tried to log into the modem to get the log files, but doesn't stay on long enough, also search for docs on the modems point me to Cisco, but searches there only give me info for routers and switches, not cable modems.
Has anyone out there ever been successful in getting an ARRIS C3 to use an external Linux DHCP/TFTP server? I've dome it with 1000'a and 1500's, but am having a heck of a time with the C3. I have the DHCP DISCOVER, OFFER, REQUEST and AC working, but the TFTP won't work. It's not an IP routing issue and not a file security issue. Any ideas?
I am trying to configure cable modem environment for some testing purposes. I have following hardware:
Motorola BSR1000 CMTS
Arris Touchstone Telephony Modem TM501A
Incognito Management Console
Docsis 1.1
The problem that I am facing is that MTA is not sending DTMF digits over RTP (inband).
Hello,
My goal is to increase bandwidth availabe to users from certain time of day (for example to increase transfer from midnight). Afaik its possible to achieve this thing without the need to reset cable modems by creating additional service flow with increased MaxRateSustained parameter. However i do not know how to make the transition from normal traffic flow during the day to the increased one. Do i need special classifier or is it done on CMTS? I have Arris C3 CMTS and for provisioning ISC DHCP, TFTP Server on Debian. Thanks in advance for help and sorry for my english.
