Is there a way around having to clone the modem MAC address in cable/dsl nat routers? Are the conditions different when using static IP addresses for both the modem and the cable/dsl router? Do different cable/dsl routers present different problems for DOCSIS modems? I have 60 of these things to set up for a particular application and the MAC cloning aspect is a real pita part of the process. Sure would like to find a way around it if possible.
We don't have this problem with our LANcity legacy modems.
Hello,
I am trying to set up new part of Thomson modems with Arris 1500 station, but modems stuck at DISCOVER/OFFER loop infinitely, while Arris modems works perfectly. Moreover, Thomsons behave completly strangely: 4 of 20 new modems of new part work nice, without any problems, while 16 other stuck at dhcp discover/offer stage.
dhcpd.conf:
[code]subnet 10.3.0.0 netmask 255.255.252.0 {
option routers 10.3.0.3;
next-server 10.3.0.3;
host 10.3.0.81 {
hardware ethernet xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx;
Hello,
I am trying to update firmware in Surfboard 5101e modems. I created config file with Motorola CVC's, update server info, filenames and everything, but test modem stays at "TFTP file request" and then reboots. Modem log says "Critical error - TFTP file complete - but missing mandatory TLV and DHCP WARNING - Non-critical field invalid in response".
Attached is text version of config file, as generated by giconfig.
I'm newbie to Docsis , can any one help me about model specifications.
Does every Model supports standard specifications (i.e cablelabs) or not?
Please help me in any manner.Any help will be appreciated.
I ran across a bunch of old modem filter examples with a 1.3.6.1.3.83 prefix. I understand this to be an older OID belonging to a different branch of the SNMP tree in a very early version of the DOCSIS spec that has been superceded by the more familiar 1.3.6.1.2.1.69 and assigned to a different branch of the SNMP tree. Presumably the suffix variables (type, value) remained the same all the way down the line and I'd only need to edit the prefix to create filter templates for modem config file implementation -- at least for anything beyond REAL early DOCSIS 1.0 firmware?
