Is there any way to get ip address WAN (PPP/SLIP) from a modem if i have its ISP side ip address (HFC ip) and i have access through SNMP and telnet ??

maybe a stupid question, but where can I buy/download this utility ? I have asked my official motorola dealer and they have never heard of it...

I ran across a bunch of old modem filter examples with a 1.3.6.1.3.83 prefix. I understand this to be an older OID belonging to a different branch of the SNMP tree in a very early version of the DOCSIS spec that has been superceded by the more familiar 1.3.6.1.2.1.69 and assigned to a different branch of the SNMP tree. Presumably the suffix variables (type, value) remained the same all the way down the line and I'd only need to edit the prefix to create filter templates for modem config file implementation -- at least for anything beyond REAL early DOCSIS 1.0 firmware?

Can anyone tell me how to turn on and monitor modem debug? In particular ranging and dhcp communication?

I am currently in the middle of developing a piece of software for monitoring your cable system. We have been using it in Camrose, Alberta, Canada for several years now with great success.

Before we started using the software we were running qpsk plant wide. We now run 16 Qam plant wide with some nodes running 64 Qam upstream.

I am not sure if there is any comparable products out there that do entire cable system monitoring, but if you are currently looking for a solution we are currently looking to further our success with the software.

I have a question about cisco cmts QoS and sip VoIP.
Im testing a voip setup on a 10k with non-eMTA SurfBoard 5100 and epc3000 modems.
Behind the modem there is conneted an router with ATA doing SIP.

Wer doing UGS-AD and it seems to be working, almost. The problems seems to be that the
call is just hanging there when its done. Its never deleted in the CMTS ?? there fore also res. bandwitdh in the CMTS maybe :-/ ?

Seems like the CMTS creates the UGS flow :
