Provisioning Server FQDN unknown to the DNS Server

Forums:

I'm trying to connect new cablemodem ARRIS TM902S with telephony.

Internet works fine, but telephony stops at:
Telephony-DHCP Completed
Telephony-TFTP In Progress
Telephony-Reg with Call Server In Progress
Telephony-Reg Complete Line(s): Not Registered

in EVENT LOG shows:
eventid: 4000950203
description: Provisioning Server FQDN unknown to the DNS Server

I'm using the same config file, what i'm using it on ARRIS TM602B, TM601B, but they works great!

Using Mikrotik as DHCP, TFTP server

Forums:

I´m attempting to running Cable Modem service using a Mikrotik to support CMTS servers requeriment. In fact, the CMTS router demands DHCP, TFTP and NTP servers and it can work like transparent bridge.
Somebody knows about it?. is this possible? The Mikrotik can support CMTS request?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Service Flow OID's

Forums:

Hi there!,

Great site you got here, first post ever.

I'm trying to find Standard OID's to obtain Service Flows for several devices (Arris, Motorola, S-A). After reading rfc4323, and checking mibDepot.com I thought I had the answer with the OID table 1.3.6.1.2.1.127, but it didnt work on Arris or S-A, so my guess is that this isnt an Standard OID or maybe is a CMTS OID, am I right? is there a Standard OID that i can use to get ALL Service Flow Table from a CM (primary and secondary)?

static ARP entries in C2200 CMTS

Forums:

Hello all,
I have a small sized cable network equipped with few C2200 CMTS from Casa Systems (http://www.casa-systems.com/products/c2200-series) and found that we cant configure static ARP entries. I see commands for changing/viewing ARP requests intervals but nothing about setting any IP entry to static or manually configured.
Thanks.

Cable Modem Config

Forums:

Hello all,
There has been a lot of talk about cable modem configs, but it seems like the conversation is never finished, or adequately answered. It would be great if everyone would post their best modem config (bin file renamed png) or the text version, and what program you are using to build them. It would be nice to see some configs with filtering enabled to block dhcp, and what about blocking cpe's for non-subscribers while authing the modem?

Thanks, this will be a great help to those of us running minimal configs and no test environment...

DOCSIS or EuroDOCSIS

Forums:

I have a DOCSIS3 CMTS with standard US 6 MHz channels. Is there any reason why I couldn't set up my down streams to
10 MHz Euro DOCSIS channels to gain more bandwidth ? We are testing IPTV and I would think the extra 4 MHz/channel
would be helpful as we get more usage.

Thanks,
BP

Routing component of CMTS

Forums:

Hi folks,

I have a fundamental question on routing in a CMTS. (E.g BSR64000/CISCO CMTS)

Where do the ROUTING protocols run? Is it on the network side or CPE side?

If it is on network side, what is the need for routing since default gateway would be ISP router?
If it is on CPE side I am again not clear why routing would be reqd. ?
Is it possible for routers to be connected behind a CM?

A diagram would be of immense help.

Thanks a lot!
Argyam
