Hi, We are using cisco uBR7246VXR with IOS 12.3(21a)BC8. We are in needing IEEE 802.1x to authenticate modems with our AAA servers. Till now, don't know whether our CMTS supports it or not?
Hello.
Does anyone integrated an asterisk server with PacketCable???
Right now, I am using Asterisk (SIP) with ATA equipment on my DOCSIS plant, not PacketCable, and the performance is very poor because without PacketCable, I dont have any QoS mechanism for guarantee the voice traffic. Applications like P2P make really bad the voice communication.
I like to know a way to jump to PacketCable using Asterisk, because my company does not have money to buy a CMS for an PacketCable implementation, but we have several eMTA ready for use.
I have been working on mapping and monitoring software for cable modem systems. I have created a browser based interactive mapping platform with per address mapping. I am currently still working on it, but looking for input, early adopting companies needing a complete mapping/monitoring/provisioning system.
We have an used Arrris C3 CMTS and we are performing some test before final instalation..
We have installed the CMTS, set the required parametars like ip helper address, upstream and downstream channels, frequencies, and we test 2 cable modems.
The modems have synchronized the Downstream and Upstream and they go in int(d) state…
After a while they go to offline mode but they never receive IP address...
I have a small network at an apartment complex, very basic config files, rate limits set to 0, maxCPE set to 1 just a 1.0 config. I have a simple server set up with DHCPd to give the modems what they need to boot. I handle actual user authentication by MAC and rate limiting on my core router. I chose to do it this way as this is how the rest of the network functions. The rest of the network is either wired ethernet or ptmp wireless which we cover a large part of the city with.
Im trying to get a new mc88v working and I cant even get a modem to register at all. Not doing any bonding... no DOCSIS 3... Any idea what I might have wrong?
We're having a bit of a struggle getting high throughput on upstream traffic in a BSR 1000 EuroDOCSIS. Aggregate throughput seems to be OK and as expected by the 3.2 MHz width and 16QAM modulation (we see peaks of 7 Mbps, so there should be headroom to the maximum capacity of 8.8 Mbps with this setup). The problem is the throughput for each modem which maxes out just below 3 Mbps. I'm used to D2.0 where I believe things are handled a bit differently, and I know I have had cases where an SB5101E has used up all 8.8 Mbps of a similar channel.
