Hi,
I turn on old CMTS recently. The first week work correctly, but today completely stupefied.
Modems have not logged in. Only few pieces is visible on CMTS. Besides has status "Ranging missed"
I have upgrade firmware 4.3.1 to 4.3.307
I change modulation in DS from QAM265 to QAM64 and in US from QAM16 to QPSK,
but it did not help.
In side RF is all OK.
What else can I do?

I am curious if anyone can explain the difference between the SNR number calculated for the CMTS port and the SNR for each individual modem on that port. I have run across a few ports where the number per modem is drastically different than the SNR for the port itself. On the CMTS it would be the difference in running the show cable noise command versus show cable modem phy command.
I have even looked at the average over time for the port and the average per modem for the same time period and they too show a large
Is there a recommended guard band between upstream channels ?
IE would a 1.6 mhz wide channel at 22 mhz upstream require a guard
if there was another channel at 24 mhz with a 1.6 mhz wide setting ?
Maybe there is a handy Docsis chart somewhere ?
Does anyone now if there is a way to limit the cable modem upstream power ?
Specifically I need to limit the cable modem to 50 dbmv max upstream.
System is a BSR2000 with SB5101 modems.
Does anybody have a fairly new firmware for Toshiba PCX2600 or PCX2500 modems lying around? I have pcx2600_na_1_0_14_01_d10.img and pcx2500_1_0_14_d10.img. Does anybody know if there are newer releases available? Toshiba ended their CM support some time ago.
My biggest problem is that the modems are binding to the first CPE MAC address they see and do not permit other CPE devices until they (modems) have been offline for the uBR's 24 hr. host expiration time. 'clear cable host' does no good either. I've set max hosts to 8 on the uBR as well as max CPE's to 8. Still no dice. Modem configs have anywhere between 3 and 8 CPE's permitted. Various Surfboard, ARRIS, and Ambit modems all exhibit the same behavior.
Hi guys, i'm working with a CMTS C3 and cable-modem motorola 5120/5121, i need use the telephony part of the modem, i searched on the web and found that the new firmware from this cable is supporting SIP, if is that true, how can i upgrade the firmware ? And if not true, how can i integrate with my CMTS ? I tried everything on my dhcp linux server, but when the cable cames on, the ata dont ask for ip, i have activated on cmts cable-helper-address for host and for cable. What i need configure on C3 ?
This is what happens...
just a few days ago we got bad SNR levels and and did not know the reason.
after searching we found that the downstream signal was poor, in the headend.
then we take the measurement of downstream directly on the CMTS (downstream port) and results that was delivering 28dB,
not 50dB like is in the CMTS configuration.
Then i Read this:
This problem is common after 5-6 years of usage and it can be repair, the upconverter (which produces the downstream signal).
