I've been told that there are some 2.0 modems out there that actually perform channel bonding on the downstreams. They are unofficially referred to as 2.5 modems.
Does anyone know if they use the same RCP TLVs as DOCSIS 3.0 modems? Or do they have some other way of sending RCP info?
We have several 10k's, all running the same ios: 12.2(33)SCE6
I know its an older code, but we cannot get docsis 3.1 modems connected to these cmts's. They get as far as init(o), then just go offline and retry.
We have 2 types of Technicolor modems (tc4400 snd gcm4231)and the Arris 8200, they all do the same thing.
The 10k's are being replaced, but that will take most of the year.
Anyone have any tricks to get these things working?
They only error entry I see in these modems is one I've never seen before:
Im looking for someone to help me get docsis server project working. I have it installed and everything says its working. I have snooped the interface to make sure the dhcp request packets are coming in. It will not issue a IP address. I am getting a few messages in the syslog in the DB. no errors though. Any help would be appreciated.
