I'm involved with a free wifi network project in Berlin (https://berlin.freifunk.net/) and am looking at a backhaul solution over a rather adhoc private cable network... One of the big problems with the European Docsis market is that most, if not all, cable modems try to be routers and telephone termination points and and and... generally screwing things up unless you can force them into bridge mode.

Right now the best option seems to be to run the TC4400 since it seems to just behave as a modem/bridge (happy to be corrected here).

Hi everyone, I have a ubr10012 and I am experiencing problems with the 2/1 slot of the DTCC module, since the third one I change and has the same fault, simply stops functioning and does not start any more.
Can anyone give me a hint how to solve this?
I have already applied the cisco suggestions but the problem continues.

Does the MC3GX60V require an rf-gateway and timing server if you are simply doing cable modems? We want to hook it up to the plant just like our 20x20 cards. We have been breaking up our apartment complexes into separate legs in order to put each leg on its own 20x20 to maximize the bandwidth per sub. The use of the MC3GX60V would minimize or eliminate the need to do this. In addition, its more cost effective currently. Thanks.

So we have upgraded and added more channel capacity to our CMTS, above 500Mhz. Our plant is old, and poorly built out, we have been upgrading for years but there are still pockets of 440MC and reverse tilts of 15db. Moving beyond that conversation, we have multiple channels in the fm band and lower, old internet only canister filters etc that cut off up to channel 70.

So here is my question, we have a bunch of new plant that can support the uppers, but want to be able to put some customers only in the lower load balancing group.

I can't force my 16x4 and 24x8 cable modemes (TC7210, TG2492 and more) to utilize my 12x downstream configuration.

Also i can't force any fullband capture modems (like TC7200) to use spaced downstream configuration.

           I have the following situation. CMTS cisco ubr10k configured with 8 downstream channels and 2 upstream channels in bonding. I want to increase 4 more downstream channels but due to space problems in the spectrum the frequencies will be very high and can not be part of the bonding for only 1.x and 2.0 docsis cables.

            I made config file attachments and some docsis 3.0 cables are registering as 2.0. only take 1 downstream and upstream channel. What could be wrong? Is there any way out of my case?

I am having trouble with the bandwidth and latency toward random CMs only during peak hours ( 19:00 ~ 22:00 +-1)
Even if there is a good connection, the utilization in all of the 8 DS channels and 4 US channels are not above 70% ( Max ) and there is no traffic done from client's side still random CMs have high ping, up to 4000 ms.
