Is anyone currently implimenting a captive portal / walled garden for cable modem customers?
If so, can you give me some ideas on how you're implementing this and what the positives and negatives are of your method?
I'm looking to send our non-pay customers to a web portal where they can make a payment but can't go anywhere else. The payment system and web page isn't an issue, just how to direct cable modem customers to it.
We have a small CATV network with Docsis and TV, but want to integrate VoIP based on Asterisk and EMTA as well. But we need a system based on PHP to handle the billing part of our VoIP clients. All our clients are post paid, so we dont need a prepaid solutions.
Can anyone guide me to someone/company who can help us with setting this up and who can give me a little bit of support? Could be nice if someone in here have a good experience with someone who can do that.
I recently set up TLS on a uBR7225VXR (NPE-G2) running Version 12.2(33)SCD5 and an MC88V line card. I have everything almost working properly. I am going to break this up into two parts.
Here is the configuration I've applies to the CMTS:
Do the standard Docsis MIB objects in cable modems and CMTS provide sufficient information to generate constellation diagrams or would special purpose sensor chips be needed?
In the web interface for the Arris TM402 & TM502 devices they have a neat little item called "Computers Detected:" in the status right under the uptime. Does anyone know if that could be grabbed via SNMP?
I am attempting to set up Arris modems to do SIP to a Metaswitch with a Cisco UBr7246. We have data services running on motorolla CM's all is fine. I am not at all versed in Arris CM's. We will be using the TM6xx and TM5xx cable modems only for customer SIP VoIP services. I have several Arris config files and PacketAce for the file configurations but not sure which type of config I need.
Do the CM's boot a start-up CM file first then follow with a tftp load of a SIP config file or is everything in on config file?
Does anyone have a working (EuroDocsis) MGCP config for the Cisco/SA EPC2203 modem?
We're trying to get it working with the firmware version epc2203-P10-5-v202r1262-110715cs-CVC060414.p7b , but no luck.
The HTTP status page also seems to be missing in the web interface, even though it's supposed to be enabled in the conf:
SnmpMibObject cmAPWeb.0 Integer 2; /* open-access */
SnmpMibObject cmRemoteWebAccess.0 Integer 1; /* enable */
SnmpMibObject cmAPWebSwitch.0 Integer 1; /* enable */
first - nice forum, much and helpful information.
Of course I have also a concern and would be happy if you could help me.
I need the bootimage (appimage) for BSR 2000 (nvram is clear, cf contains only the startup-config).
