Hello everybody !
First of all, I would like to apologize for my English (I use Google Translate).
I will try to be straightforward not to take too long from you.
I have 2 cable modem bought in a batch of scraps but working, 1 Motorola Surfboard SBV5122 and 1 Thompson DWG850-4B and a DHCP server with asterisk and 2 SIP accounts I configured.
I would like to enjoy these two cable modem and use them here at home in the asterisk server SIP accounts I have. (The Asterisk server does not have internet access, only intranet)
There is some way to provision these cable modem by DHCP via LAN or SNMP, because I don't have permission access to Techsupport.html of the cable modem. How I bought in a batch of scraps I don't even have how to get a firmware to record in them.
Sorry if it's impossible to do what I want.
Thank you very much for the help of you.
Basically the answer is yes.
1. you need to check if modems support SIP registration
2. you need to setup dhcp option 122 (suboptions 1,2,3) for cable modem
3. you need to setup dhcp option 122 suboptions 5,6,7 for mta
4. you need to create config file for MTA (SIP) in this config file you'll write in sip username and password.
