CMTS: Motorola BSR 64000
Firmware: 8.1.0.1
Supervisor cards: SRM10G
Downstream cards: TXPlus
Upstream cards: RX48
Bonding groups: 32x4
We are seeing some CM8200 modems getting stuck in dhcp(ack) when registering. We see the following in the logs:
RCP Ignored: BondingCapable Modem xxxx.xxxx.xxxx can't register as bonded
If I reset the modem and clear out offline modems it will register fine and bond all channels on the upstream and downstream. We have not seen these issues on our newer CMTS (Casa C100G). I am wondering if I am missing a setting somewhere on the BSR. Has anyone had any experience with this log message on the BSR 64000?
Hi Bob
Can you post your cable interface config?

if that doesn't do the trick, I would try different modem firmware
Will give these a try. Thanks for the tips.
Hi bbob!
I have the same issue with CH6643E modems, but in my case they bond the DS channels and NOT the US channels. My CMTS is BSR 6400 too but with SRM4.
Did You got the solution?
Hi Bob
the config should be close to the same, you can post your email, from there we can email with your config (minus network addresses) or telnet in and take a look.
have a great thanksgiving
Carlos
Hi Carlos!
Thank You for Your reply. My e-mail is my nick(at)yahoo.com. Or You mean mr. Bob-s mail?
