Hi,
I'm looking for an on-premises solution to offer broadband to the condos of large estates.
I'm exploring the option of deploying compact CMTS somewhere on premises, and provide a small CPE to the users for broadband and voice.
Can anyone suggest a small/cheap/compact CMTS supporting DOCSIS 3.0 and with GigabitEthernet uplink?
The only one I found so far is this: http://www.casa-systems.com/collateral/csa/files/public/CASA_DataSheet_C...
Thanks.
What do you consider cheap? Another alternative is Cisco's UBR7225VXR. The 7225VXR with 3 Gig ports (NPE-G2) and one MC88V Blade (8DS 8US) is approx $30k, Same form factor as the CASA but holds up to 2 MC88V blades (16 possible downstreams to the CASA's 8).
Thanks, but that's exactly what I want to avoid: getting a large, powerful, expensive CMTS. In this scenario, I'd be deploying CMTSes remotely on customer premises, rather than at a central NOC.
What I'm looking for is a cheap (<5-10k$) CMTS for a few dozens users at most. Is there anything like this?
should fit very close in your pice range. You dont have to purchase it licensed for max channels per port, just what you need for the complex. The C1G is exactly designed for your requirments, MDU, apartments and condos.
Toner distributes the C1G for Casa.
Tell them Tom sent you.
I currently have listed on eBay an Arris C3 CMTS with almost 3 years left on the Warranty, http://www.ebay.com/itm/230761312896?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p....
Our company was going to deploy it on a small cable plant we were looking at acquiring, but after digging into the cable plant further we decided to no go that route.
Those are very cheap.
