Hello,
recently we've got a source of Scientific Atlanta DPC/EPC2203 modems. We run IOS version 12.3(23)BC3. As I see, there are no commands in this release configuring gatekeeper and such, I think the voip functionality is missing altogether. This normally would not be a problem, we don't intend to use voip for now, but we cannot configure EPC2203 modems, the cable-modem part awakes but lets no traffic through for the CPE. Can somebody please point us to the right direction?
Thanks in advance!
It's usually possible to disable the voice component of an eMTA. Usually this is done by setting appropriate mib in the cm config file, or by not setting option 122 in the cm DHCP offer. Can you check the documentation for your 2203 ?
Simply by putting "option option-122 01:04:00:00:00:00; " into line regarding particular modem in Your dhcpd.conf :)
Thank you very much for the answers, I will try both. By default, our DHCP configuration does not include option-122. Can I define this for the whole range?
Hmm, ISC DHCPD does not get option-122 :( Or how can I add it?
Edit: Got it, I was a lamer, I saw after that, first one should add:
option option-122 code 122=string;
at the global options part of the configuration file. And of course, it works! We were able to bring up the modems without mta.
Thanks again, guys!
