Hello,
I'm a cable guy, but I have a customer that has wireless DOCSIS with an Arris CMTS 1500. His upstream SNR at the CMTS is about 10db. In the cable world that's bad. Is that bad for wireless too? my understanding is that DOCSIS is still DOCSIS over wireless, cable, glass or two cans and a string.
Thanks,
Eric
I guess the US SNR might depend on what type of modulation profile they're trying to do. 16QAM doesn't seem like it would work in that environment, but perhaps QPSK...? Still, that seems low. Do they use different profiles entirely -- like OFDM -- with wireless stuff? That might work at 10dB...
