I'm not having any luck with my searches, so I'm asking here...
Is there an OID that can be used on a Cisco uBR to retrieve the total number of online cable modem?
How about the same query on a Nokia/Alcatel 7360 ISAM FX-8?
Thank you!

For the Cisco, you can get counts per mac-domain
CISCO-DOCS-EXT-MIB::cdxCmtsCmRegistered
(1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.116.1.3.3.1.6)
Snmpwalk and add them up, or write a script to poll each active mac domain and add the totals.
this will only count docsis 2.0 cable modems unfortunately :( there are other ways to do it, but it needs scripting. If you can do it via SSH, that's the best way.
It counts all Modems. D2.0 and D3.0.
I've got this OID in Production.
My monitoring regularly does a SNMP-walk for this subtree.
The sum of the results is the total amount of modems on the CMTS.
Tested with an ubr10k.
