Hi!
I'm having a problem upgrading a C4 (actually a C4c, same same). We have a 16DCAM in slot 15 and have a used 32DCAM that is supposed to go in slot 15, replacing the 16DCAM. The problem is that I just can't seem to change the card type (after inserting the 32DCAM in slot 15):
# configure slot 15 type 32DCAM-A
^
Error: You may not change the card type for a previously provisioned card.
The new (used) 32DCAM is a CAM-20032W/G04, so it's properly licensed for 32 DS channels. I even tried to put it in slot 14, issued "configure slot 14 type 16DCAM", "configure slot 14 no shutdown" and then immediately shut the card down and tried to change it to 32DCAM-A, but still the same issue. I even did shutdown on the newly created cable downstream 14/x interfaces, but no luck. Will I need to change the config on the PCMCIA flash card in order to get this going or is there a shortcut?

Perhaps I came up with the solution myself... I'm planning on rebooting the entire stove with the card removed. This way I should be able to provision a new type of card and then re-insert the 32D card again.
If anyone has a better solution, I'd be thrilled to hear from you!

You need to do a "type no" and then the new type.
Hi!
Thanks for the tip! I did a shutdown on the card an then "type no" as suggested, then I could set the correct type and "no shutdown".
Thanks again!
