Usually those type of SNMP set commands (i.e. to enable access) have to be set in the modem config file.
I have different models and brands of modem on the network and I send everyone the same docsis file, these lines only apply to Cisco brand modems.
Question:
This does not create a problem for all other non-Cisco brand cable modems if the docsis file has these lines
Typically, most providers would send at least a model/manufacturer specific file to each modem.
However, if you have snmpsets in a general config file that are manufacturer specific, usually it should not be a problem. Most modems will log the issue though, noting that a snmpset was not successful.
