Modem Username & Password from MIB

Hi Team,

Suppose I set a new password from GUI for modem. So how to check what is the user name and password of my modem,in case if I forget. How can I check the password and username. When I am walk on to the MIB "cmConfigMtaObjects" , not able to find for all ARRIS LGI modems. Is there any other MIB in SNMP to check ? Please help me out.

Regards,
Laxmi

That is not needed. He might

That is not needed. He might be working as a security expert in a certification lab. From his posts, I have the feeling he works for LGI certification labs, otherwise he would not have access to the modem he asked support for. That modem was not yet deployed in the field.

To answer the original question, the GUI password should not be available over SNMP, should be stored in the NVRAM only. You can check to walk the eRouter MIB and see if you see the password.
Also, you are walking the MTA MIB tree.
If some passwords will be available via SNMP, please note that there are reversible and irreversible hashing algorithms so I suppose ARRIS would use an irreversible one to store the hashed string. Then it will have to be brute-forced with rainbow tables or a hashing matching technique.
