Hello all,
I want to deploy internet on an 45 floors tower over coaxcable. The coax cable have been already deployed for tv but not for internet by a german cable provider. This works fine.
They installed the cables with many splitters, it seems that any destination does have at least one of it. Is it possible to have there a working back channel?
If not, is there a solution to deploy a signal without a back channel and do this over WLAN, DSL or something like that? About 15 years ago I did have a solution via ISDN... I do not know if this was docsis... Is this still available? Does anybody know DOCSIS hardware supporting this?
Regards,
Markus Schreaeder
Your upstream MUST be over DOCSIS also.
A C4c from ARRIS is exactly what you are looking for.
First thing what he should looking for is the real status of the physical plant. The type of cable for kind of attenuation, shield aso..The structure of the network: Star or Tree to take an decision how to split the current network into smaller pieces to bring the needed bandwidth to the clients.
