I need if cable modem change the channel cause load balance function work, it will go directly to use new channel without re registration or rangging again.

Thank for you help!

More info...

What kind of configuration are you trying to use? Are you using docsis-groups or Cisco LB groups?

Personally I don't think the

Personally I don't think the init technique stuff is super important, but it would depend on what type of balancing you are trying to use....

If you are trying to balance based on load, then I guess it could be important. I don't like the idea of balance on load, as its pretty risky asking modems to shift around as traffic rises and falls.

I prefer just to balance on number of modems, which gives pretty decent results. In this scenario, if the modem has to reregister at bootup time then its not the end of the world, just a small delay before the modem is online.

I use #modems based downstream and upstream load balance on ubr10K, PRE4, MC20x20 and it works well. What hardware are you running? I can give you some examples of my config if you think that would help. In fact I think I posted examples previously so could probably dig up the link for that thread if you want to see them.

Oh, and I just remembered

Oh, and I just remembered there were bugs in load-balance for earlier 12.2(33)SC builds. Looking back at my notes I see we had some cases open with Cisco and they fixed the last problems for us in SCF3. So since you are running earlier build than this it might pay to do some upgrades.

These days we are running SCG3 and it works well for us. SCG is the first version that has no open bugs for us. Over the last few years we have upgraded through pretty much every build back to start of 12.2 SCC. Each time Cisco fixed bugs we reported, they broke something else in the next release :-/
