Hello All,
We have a UBR10K and would like to add more than 8 US channels on an interface.. Anyone knows how we can achieve this?
We were able to configure 8 US channels but more than 8 (like 12 US) is not working.
Anyone can advise and provide a sample config?
Regards,
There is a max of 8 US per mac domain
Hi,
Yes this we know already. What is the solution to be able to configure more than 20 US?
Regards,
I believe cBR8 can do 16 per mac domain. Doesn't help you with your 10k though !
Can you use less channels but higher width and qam? For example run 3 x 6.4MHz width channels rather than 6 x 3.2MHz channels. And/or 64QAM rather than 16QAM. This will depend on how clean your plant is. Note you can configure the higher width and qam and have auto-fallback to lower settings should noise come along. Note that you cant use these higher settings / A-TDMA mode with with D1.x modems. If you have any of these deployed you should try and swap them out for something more modern... :-)
Can you segment your network into more mac domains? If you are worried about burning too many DS per mac-domain (leaving US channels stranded), then you have a couple of options.... use RF spanning, or add some DS SPA.
For example on a 20x20 card :
spanning example 1)
configure 4 x mac-domains, with up to 4 primary DS per mac-domain, and then span the remaining 4 DS across the 4 mac-domains (allows up to 8 way DS bonding). Total of 4 mac-domains with 8 DS and average of 5 US.
spanning example 2)
configure 2 x mac-domains, with up to 8 primary DS per mac-domain, and then span the remaining 4 DS across these 2 mac-domains (allows up to 12 way DS bonding). Total of 2 mac domains with 12 DS and up to 8 US. Note this will leave at least 4 US stranded though.
spanning + spa example)
Configure as shown above in example, but add a SPA-24XDS-SFP to run provide another 2 mac-domains of 12 DS each to the 20x20 card (so you aren't leaving any US stranded). Total of 4 mac domains with 12 DS each and average of 5 US per mac-domain. Note, needs a DTI and EdgeQAM.
Lots of other combinations possible
