TLV 55 parameter

please explain the purpose of TLV-55 (SNMP CPE Access Control) parameter. When it's used and how.

It is used to prevent CPEs

It is used to prevent CPEs (devices at customer premise behind the cable modem) from accessing the CM via SNMP here is the blurb from Packet Ace

If the value of this field is a 1, the CM MUST allow SNMP access from any CPE attached to it. If the value of this field is a 0, the CM MUST NOT allow SNMP Access from any CPE attached to it.

Value:
0 Disable
1 Enable

The CM MUST disable SNMP access from CPEs connected to the cable modem if SNMP CPE Access Control TLV 55 is not present in the configuration file.

To prevent CPEs from

To prevent CPEs from accessing the CM: means CM disable SNMP queries from CPEs? What kind of requests, Get, Set, or all types?
Some configuration files have no TLV-55 parameter specified, but CM are accessible via SNMP queries from CPE.

SNMP CPE access was only

SNMP CPE access was only added in Docsis 3.0 Spec so it would only apply for Docsis 3.0+ compliant modems
