Hi,
I really need a help.
From SNMP by setting the MIB: arrisCmDoc30AccessTelnetPassword (Technician PW) I am unable to active the telnet. Since it is restricted.
So is there any way to active telnet from putty or Xshell by entering the CM IP address?
Plz help me out.
SNMP snap shot:
***** SNMP SET-RESPONSE START *****
1: arrisCmDoc30AccessTelnetPassword.0 (DisplayString) 1A72C5F0CF [31.41.37.32.43.35.46.30.43.46 (hex)]
***** SNMP SET-RESPONSE END *****
***** SNMP SET-RESPONSE START *****
Error: Undo failed
Error index: 1
1: arrisCmDoc30AccessTelnetEnable.0 (INTEGER) enable(1)
***** SNMP SET-RESPONSE END *****
Using CM config file:
For 7.5:
Add the following into the config file:
arrisCmDoc30AccessTelnetPassword
arrisCmDoc30AccessTelnetEnable
For 9.1:
Generate the DES encoded seed with PacketACE and add it to the config file.
arrisCmDoc30AccessClientSeed

Using the web interface:
Enable web access:
arrisCmDoc30AccessHttpLan
arrisCmDoc30AccessHttpWan
Go to:
http://cmipaddr/techsupport.htm
Enable telnet in the menu, click Submit.
Don't answer this kinds of questions, this is most likely a hacker trying to get unauthorized telnet access to a legit customer's cable modem, this forum is full of them.
There is no way you can hack the modem this way, this is used for advanced troubleshooting.
On Arris modems if you gain telnet or ssh access, you can obtain WIFI passwords, enable or gain access to the customer's modems web configuration pages, and if they are really clever they can download the modem's certificates allowing them to clone the modem, that's probably what he's trying to achieve.
