I have an Arris C4 that is configured for Docsis 3.0 and using Arris CM820A modems. The CMTS is configured for 8x3 bonding. When I look at the modems I can see the bonding has occurred and I get the specified downstream rates but the upstream won't go beyond 2.2Megs even though I have configured the cfg file to allow 4 megs. I see nothing obvious. It has been this way from the initial configuration. Any insight would be appreciated. I am including a sterile copy of the CMTS config as well as a sterile copy of the modem config file converted to text. Thanks in advance for any insight.
Sincerely,
Art Plato.
Hi Art,
C4 config looks ok. Try to change US MaxTrafficBurst to 3044 in CM config. Do you have any other types of CM in your network?
try change minislot-size to 4
Thanks for the suggestions. All of our modems are Arris. This is the list of models we use. CM820A, TM822G and TM804G. Changing the max burst got me to 3.3 Mbs and then changing the minislot to 4 got me to 5 mbs. Anything else you can think of that might be impairing my upstream?
I am more of a Cisco cmts guy, but I could not determine your channel width on your upstreams.... if you are at 1.6 mhz wide you could be hitting cap of the upstream channel, as a 1.6 mhz channel in qam 16 is about 5.x megs
Thats right. Check your channel-width, I don't see it in your config.
