anybody have some experience with setting L2oGRE tunnel at cable modem from configure file ?
I need example configure file for L2oGRE configuration, special flow for hotspot service,
Hi, for my knowledge features like L2oGRE are special features which are requested by the MSO. So this is no normal feature set which is available on each eRouter capable cable modem. For the future of eRouter it may looks different because it looks like some features will be introduce by standard. But this needs still time.
So for my current understanding you asking for proprietary configuration, which are specially requested by MSO. Also I doubt you'll get many ansers in the next time with usable config settings. :(
If you are using a SoftGRE tunnel interface behind the cable modem then it's simple. Create a classifier with Protocoll 47 (GRE) and your expected destination address for upstream and expected source address for the downstream.
If you want also to have the eRouter from a eDOCSIS device to establish a SoftGRE tunnel then you need a special firmware at this time. All the firmware where I know was special requests from the MSO to the vendor.
In the future there will be a updated eRouter spec with additional european annex, where this kind of tunnel interfaces should be configurable. But then it will need some time until the vendors have implemented these feature in the normal software train.
I known so this is very fresh requirement but I try set it at sagemcom CM-RG at broadcom chipset
I can run it at modem and running but it have some problems with communication to router zte and linux router
