UBR10k cable modem change return frequency via snmp?
Does anyone know if there's a MIB to instruct a modem to move to a different return frequency?
Equivalent CLI command would be 'cable modem change-frequency '
mbowe: While I thank you for your response and I fully agree, fix the noise, it's not permanent ect.. it's not relative to my inquiry.
We're restricted with certain resource limitations and I have a very specific purpose for my request.
At this point I'm pretty sure this doesn't exist but I'm hopeful or maybe it'll happen in a future release.
looks promising I did not experiment with it and it may require MTC mode to work but it would allow you to choose which upstream channel Ids the modem was allowed to transmit on.
Does this sound like what you need? (from the DOCSIS MULPI doc):
11.6.1.2 Restricted Load Balancing Groups419
Restricted Load Balancing Groups are used to accommodate a topology specific or provisioning specific restriction (such as a set of channels reserved for business customers). The CMTS can associate an upstream or downstream channel with any number of Restricted Load Balancing Groups. A CM can be configured to an identified Restricted Load Balancing Group with the Service Type Identifier or the Load Balancing Group Identifier encodings in the CM configuration file (see Sections C.1.1.18.1.10 and C.1.1.18.1.3).
Pretty pointless in my opinion as it is not permanent. The modem may well move to another freq at some random time in the future.
If you are trying to get away from noise, then fix the noise problem instead.
If you are trying to redistribute traffic / modem numbers between interfaces, then use cable load-balance commands to automate this.

I don't think there is a direct way to do this, however,
