as what ive read the docsis-server can be run on redhat version and mandrake 10.1 is it possible to run in centos system.

Shouldn't be a problem

Centos is simply Redhat Enterprise - as long as you install the needed -devel packages, you shouldn't have any problem. If you don't install the appropriate -devel packages, you'll see the same thing as in http://www.docsis.org/node/182
