docsis server 2.0.4 w motorola bsr1000 DHCP crashes...

Hi all

First i would like to say that i managed to put up a whole system and is working more or less fine except for DHCP service. DHCP is crashing once in 5 minute interval when CPE equipment is renewing IP address. Watchdog script is doing a job, but i would like to know is there someone experiencing
a similar problem. Funny thing is that some PCs are not crashing DHCP and some crashes it every time...weird.

DHCP crashes....

It seems that in sql row in table dhcp_leases some strange input in column modem_macaddr (the CMmac address is completely twisted 88c1e20401c20000000000ÂâÁˆ) is crashing a DHCP. One more thing when an CPE equipment asks for IP address this is the ListMessage dhcp. What could be the cause of different modem address eery single time

Re: still problems

That code your running on the BSR1k OLDER THAN DIRT... you need to upgrade. what the % or delta of free cpu?
what is the lease time on the modem and cpe from the dhcp server?
Also seen someone who has a BSR2k on this post. Same questions for you as well

ok,

and bsr is switched to eurodocsis or american docsis? i think that your firmware is VERY old. last version of firmware is 2.01.11P01, it is from 3/07 i think. contact your support for new one.

Okay, i have acquired a newest version and tests will begin. As of euroDOCSIS or DOCSIS in motorola documentation is stated that eurodocsis should be triggered with RDN(config-if)#cable downstream 0 annex a but it seems that my motorola doesnt have that option. Either way it must be configured in EuroDOCSIS so please tell me if how to enable it

hello,

check > show controllers cable 0/0 downstream , for configuration of your DS.annex A is eurodocsis, B is docsis.
i think that it is no possible to assign if cmts must be euro or american.on bsr2000 it is possible, but b1k not.
