BTW, tip for finding stuff on sites that don't have search (in case you didn't already know this) you can use google like this: type "Arris EMTA site:docsis.org" at google to see all pages mentioning Arris EMTAs here. I find it useful for sites with huge amounts of forum topics (example: avsforum.com).
And silly me. I use the Google approach for another very large forum (with many sub-forums) as you describe. Don't know why I didn't think of using it for this one in the absence of the integrated search. Probably the same reason I still can't figure out the correct OID's for adding some basic filtering to my modem config files -- can't see the forest for the trees!
