if i have a ubr 7246vxr with four 6x1 Cards.
the four downstream ports need to operate in diferents frequencys?
ie. with the nortel arris 1000 i take the 117000Mhz (channel 99) for DOCSIS work
if i put a ubr7246vxr need four channels to get it work?!
Juan
you can use only one dowstream port if you like, so you would need one DS channel to make it works :)
but as far as I remember card MC16C have one DS and 6 US ports, so about what 4 DS port are you thinking?

that's what I mean.
I speak of the downstream ports corresponding to each card.
if I go to work with the card # 1 (6x1) that needs a port downstream DOCSIS channel for the forward.
if I use the card # 2, # 3 and # 4 I need three additional DOCSIS channels.
I want to know if possible (as in the return) use a single frequency for
the forward. ie. channel 99 (117000Mhz) for each downstream port.

like a video channel, you can't have the same channel ex 99 from three or four modulators going to the same node. so, in your case, yes you can use the same freq and would be better if you did. but need to make sure the combining is such that the downstream only goes to the nodes that have the same upstream ports of the downstream. so slot 1 for example goes to nodes that have returns for the 6 upstream port of the same blade
OK, now I get it i think :)
You cannot bundle US ports and DS ports between cards, so if you need use more then 6 US ports you will also need use more DS cards. If you want to use same freq on each DS port you will require such plant architecture, that only one DS will be on given optical node , and fot this node all US channels have to go to US ports on the same card as DS port.
Hope thats helps you :)

thats what i thought. thats a very dificult schema for me.
Thanks anyways.
JBMartinez.
Yes, All downstream can be configured on same D/S frequency, but you need to mix different D/S outputs to different network. i.e. not mixing of D/S on same network.
I hope u r clear now ...
