Arris C3 OID to know CM Data Throughput

Hi
When I type in the C3 scm x.x.x.x detail I have the last 4 lines that say :

Total US Data : xxxx packets, xxxxxxx bytes
Total US Throughput : x bits/sec, x packets/sec
Total DS Data : xxxx packets, xxxxxxx bytes
Total DS Throughput : x bits/sec, x packets/sec

I need to know if its possible to get the values "Total US Throughput" and "Total DS Throughput" using SNMP or I must calculate them.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

SNMP traffic stats

I can't speak about the C3, but - generally - the way that things work with SNMP-enabled software for graphs / reports is to use the counters and calculate the diffs over the period the probes were received for. I've never seen a device report throughput rate through SNMP, only counters.

thanks for answer

I made an script in php to ssh the C3 and run a scm xx.xx.xx.xx detail | include Total and parse using php and worked fine, if the user dont push too many times the refresh button, and eventually killed the ssh process in the C3, so I will go to the modem snmp, and the math.

I found the snmp OID for service flows using snmpwalk, but is tricky to get the service flows ids matching the sid of the modem.

Thanks for answer anyway !

Possible answer for you .....

It depends if you want the traffic broken down by service flow or not

if you just want to see traffic a particular modem is using just use the standard MIB for interfaces to poll the MODEM's ethernet and/or USB interface twice and do the math to get those values.

however, if you need it broken down into service flows, this is something you need to ask arris about, there is no docsis/interface-standard way of doing this....

on a cisco cmts you could use the DOCS-QOS MIB to derive this info though it is rather convoluted....for Arris though not sure if something like that is possible, I imagine it is but your gonna need the Arris specific Mib file that makes it possible.
