Hi Folks,
We have the above system on trial for 30 days. The supplier is slow to respond to our questions. No matter what I try our test modem can't get an upstream. Downstream is fine. The CMTS can't even see the CM ranging. I've tried different upstream physical ports, US power levels, no difference. The CM is directly connected to the MC20X20V line card via 2 way splitter and 40dB pad. The modem works fine on a Casa CMTS using the same DS/US Freq and power settings and cables. At this point I'm starting to think the system is defective. Can anyone see something amiss in our config. I'm not worried about routing etc, we just want the CM to acquire DS and US on DS 8/0/0 US0.

Are the appropriate US LEDs coming on OK on the linecard?
The US cables that plug into the back of the CMTS have two blocks of 10, you havent got them backwards/swapped by accident?
Yeah, make sure the interface is up. I've also seen it where the US controller shows different settings that the configuration...in this case, re-paste the configuration again.
If you aren't seeing the modem ranging at all, I'd start troubleshooting the DS - it's typically the DS, cabling or timing when there's no ranging...and since you're using I-CMTS architecture, the timing should be fine.
You said you had a pad of 40db, but the DS output is 52...that would probably put you at around 10 which should work, but you might want to try to get that number closer to 0...so maybe pad the DS a little bit more.

I think your just missing assigning the upstreams to the cable 8/0/0 interface. Try changing "downstream Integrated-Cable 8/0/0 rf-channel 0-3" to "downstream Integrated-Cable 8/0/0 rf-channel 0-3 upstream 0-3".
Try that with the above suggestions and see if that helps.

I had a DTCC+ and a 20v20 card that would not work until I added this command then it worked flawlessly.
when I did a sh inventory the DTCC+ card showed up as a UBR10-TCC+-T1 card which would not do DTI until you put that command in. The label on the front of the card and the board all said UBR10-DTCC just like all my other 10Ks.

This is resolved the issue was 2 x DTCC cards were needed.
Once 2 were installed the FW was automatically upgraded on each card. The system would then work with one DTCC card once FW was upgraded. We have deployed in the field with 2 x DTCC cards. Will be moving CMs to it next week.
