We have several Netgear CG3000D's deployed and recently have been seeing some issues. I have one customer in particular that says he has to reboot his modem at least once a day, sometimes several times a day. He also has voice service and has an Arris eMTA there as well. In the logs of the Netgear, I see T3 timeouts. He has a good signal, average 2db on all 8 DS channels with average 42db SNR, and 44db upstream power and SNR 32db. Software/firmware info is, HW_REV: 2.01; VENDOR: Netgear; BOOTR: 2.3.0beta5; SW_REV: V5.5.2RG-05B; MODEL: CG3000D. We've replaced the gateway 2 times, and have the same issues. No issues on the Arris modem and when we placed a Cisco DPC3010 there, there are no issues. Of the others in the same plant, we see similar issues, but not as frequent. This all seemed to happen after we upgraded to an Arris C4 and Docsis 3.0.
Is anyone else having issues with the Netgear CG3000D?
We too had issues with the Netgear 3000 and have since removed them from the field. The main issue we had was with any new Apple device or Windows 8. Webpages would load at a very slow rate. 30+ sec a page although file transfers would be normal. We would replace the unit with an a Arris 860/862 and never had an issue again. The units we had worked great on Windows XP / Vista / 7 but as customers upgrade their equipment we had to replace the unit.
