Our company has just picked up a few new gateways that all use the CMTS 1000. We use an IP tracking system that relies on SNMP traps update a database with information about the moems's. I have read the manual many times, actually 4 different manuals that I found for this device, but can not get the traps to work. I have added an access entry in access-specific to point the traps towards the specific server that we use to do the same thing with our UBR's, but it does not send any traps. I have followed the instructions and did this more than once but still no traps. I did however lock us out of one by making a change to the default account, that was not fun, but we were able to use snmpset to fix that issue. But since then I can not even get an snmpwalk on the Arris. Has anyone gotten the snmptraps to work? Also does anyone have any what may have stopped snmpwalk from working?
