Hi,
I'm currently investigating several methods of monitoring the performance of cable modems.
So far, I've come across
- Broadband forum: TR-069 -> TR-143 (Enabling Network Throughput Performance Tests and Statistical Monitoring)
- Cablelabs: SLED (Software Loopback Application for eDOCSIS)
Unfortunately, besides the official documents there isn't much info out there and I'm wondering if anybody has some
further info on these 'standards' or has also done some investigation?
For example, I seem to notice that SLED only does upstream packet generation?
Are there any known vendors (hardware) and monitoring solutions (software) that use these?
Are there any other 'standards' that I may be missing?
Many thanks,
Sven.
The most common method for monitoring modems is SNMP.
It's faster and more suitable for larger plants.
