I have been working on mapping and monitoring software for cable modem systems. I have created a browser based interactive mapping platform with per address mapping. I am currently still working on it, but looking for input, early adopting companies needing a complete mapping/monitoring/provisioning system.

How did you solve monitoring lots of cable modem? Are you using SNMP or another customized tool?

I developed my own intelligent SNMP polling script that takes into account far more then just the broadcast address/brute force approach commonly used for polling large amounts of devices.
