Force Motorola SB4200 to renew IP while behind D-Link DI-614

I occasionally need to renew my IP address with my ISP Telstra/BigPond.

I'm using a Motorola SURFBoard SB4200 with a D-Link DI-614+ Wireless Modem Router authenticating to the SB4200.

My ISP is being most unhelpful, only able to officially support a PC directly connected to the SB4200 Cable modem.

I can connect to the WebAdmin interface on http//192.168.100.1/ but there's no option to renew the DHCP IP address.

Can anyone help, please?

As I can understand. Your SB4200 works just like a bridge, so it`s just transmitting Ethernet frames from Dlink via HFC-network to your MSO CMTS.
You didn`t inform how you obtain IP from your provider. Is it via DHCP, or via PPPoE, or via static assignin?
If via DHCP, everything you need is to send DHCP_RENEW from your D-link router to your provider DHCP-server.
Talking about mechanisms of DHCP-server - any DHCP-server lease IP for specific time, called DHCP-LEASE-TIME. After that host must re-request IP from DHCP-server. Our clients often configure their firewall in a way - DENY ALL except some ports. And unfortunatelly they forgot to open DHCP ports :).
Anyway, I think that more detail information you can obtain from D-Link technicall support. This is in case that you obtain IP via DHCP.

In case of PPPoE use have to re-establish connetion to renew your IP.
The statical assignin, I thika is the most easy, just change the IP on the external interface of your router.
