I am using a Cisco 2621 router to do some quick and dirty provisioning pending a site upgrade.
The CMTS is an Arris 1000 and I have been able to provision cable modems using the 2621 with no issue.
I am using the onboard flash to store the cm bin file.
The issue I am having is that the CM is pulling an address from the CableModem Pool (public) but when the CPE reqs an address, it also pulls from the
CableModems pool. Using isc dhcpd, i think this is solved by using shared-network.
Under cisco dhcp how do I tell IOS that the CPE device gets an address from the CPE pool and not the CableModem pool. Using 2 public ips for each customer cant be the only option.
