Modem Config Files

When you have a mix of modems, and a mix of CMTS's, can you create one modem config file with both 1.0 and 1.1 support?

Any samples out there? We use Motorola 4100, 4200 and 5100. We would also like to update their firmware if anyone can help with that..

Thanks,!

husamaga
Yes, when you create a modem

Yes, when you create a modem config it should work with docsis 1.0 1.1 & 2.0
here is a sample for modem config file wich works with docsis 1.0 & 1.1 and makes the upgrade for motorola modems:

Main
{
MaxCPE 4;
NetworkAccess 1;
ClassOfService
{
ClassID 1;
PrivacyEnable 0;
}

SwUpgradeFilename "SB5100E-2.3.2.3-SCM00-NOSH-NNEMN.p7";
SwUpgradeServer 192.168.1.1;

Upgrade Sw for Motorola CM's

Does anyone have the software for Motorola SB4100, SB4200 and SB5100 modems? Or know where to get it?

mbowe
Official source

Official source is https://digitalcm.motorola.com/

Latest 4100 is v1.4.9.11
Latest 4200 is v1.4.9.11
Latest 5100 is v2.3.9.0

Man, 4100 and 4200 is pretty ancient stuff, be nice if you could phase those out :-)

husamaga
just google this "SB5100E-2.3

just google this "SB5100E-2.3.9.0-GA-00-NOSH-NNEMN.p7" and you will find it somewhere on the web.
this is E (europe version)
i don't use 4100 & 4200.
