Hi group
I have the following situation. We have a Motorola CMTS BSR2000 with 1 DS port and 4 US ports. Everytime an optical transmitter goes turned off on the street, our CMTS in head-end blocked, the front leds shows no failure and logs doesn't seems to give any clue. The solution is to restart the CMTS, to switch turned off then to switch to turn on.
Anyone had this rare behaviour?
Thanks in advance
We've had a similar type of issue with one of our BSR64K, but it happened only in one CMTS card when an opticall tx was turned off for any reason, all the cable modems on that card went offline.
I think you have the same issue, but as you have only 1 DS port, you are forced to reboot the chassis.
We were told by Motorola support to upgrade the SW version because it was a known bug. If you can, upgrade to the latest available SW version.
Regards.
Hi DanInter, thanks for your reply. I'll contact Motorola to get the latest upgrade.
BTW wich version do you have and what it would be the latest?
Thanks again!
Hello cabo81,
Right now we are running 5.2.1 code, is not the latest but is the most stable(ish) version. They have recommended 5.3.1.x code, but we've had some problems in our lab tests.
Let us know the results after the upgrade.
Regards,
