ARRIS-TG862G issues with Call waiting and Dial codes

Hi all,

We have just recently purchased a solution to provide TV, internet and phones over DOCSIS.

we are functioning for the most part but I am having some quirky issues with the ARRIS-TG862G

It appears that it can only accept one incoming call at a time. so there is no call waiting or 3 way calling

and another quirk i found is that for access codes you cannot dial more than 2 digits example when i press *123 which is for voicemail. It will only dial *12.
the 3rd digit is left out.

I am very new to DOCSIS and most of the system was put together for us and was just handed off with no real support for when we have questions and such.

So i am definitely looking for some help, and possibly a direction where to learn about this as for most of the config files i have no idea what I am looking at.
I am using Excentis Docsis Config file editor, but all these unknowns in the config is something im not familiar with. I obviously see the Number, Name, Authentication user ID and password fields as well as server address but beyond that I am lost. as of right now phones are working and operational but the new issues we are having is call waiting and dial codes any help is appreciated.

does the 3-way calling work

does the 3-way calling work on other EMTAs or not work in general? If it does not work in general that is usually due to the line provider (e.g. asterisk, metasoftswitch) talkin to that provider will get you a long way.

as for dialing of digits there is a digit map oid for Arris mtas that controls what gets sent to the softswitch, let me see if I can find an example from an mta file

SnmpMibObject enterprises.4115.11.1.2.0 String "[*#]x[#T]|[*#]xx|0[#T]|0 0|011x.[#T]|101xxxx.[#T]|1[2-9]11|[01][2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxx|[2-9]11|[2-9]xxxxxx[#T] |[2-9]xx[2-9]xxxxxx" ;

this tells the mta what digits to send upstream as it were, though I don't remember exactly what the format is... been a long time since I looked at the docs.

Call up Arris, get a hold of their manual for the TG862G they have all this info in there, there modem/mta docs are rather decent, and they have top notch support. If your in North America you can try techsupport.na@arrisi.com
