UBR10K + Arris 820 + seperate blocks of 4x8Mhz downstream groups.

Hi Guys,

I have some problem to using my ubr10k with mc20x20 card with 2 DTI Clock card. Each time i trying to get a modem boot, it almost come online (init)o and failling back offline.

Anyone have a ideal why ? I tried with use 8 DS channel bonding..below my config file.

init(o) is obtaining the CM configuration file. Check that you have reachability between the cable modem subnet and your tftp server. (ping tftp-server-ip source 10.3.0.1).

If that is OK, then check the CM configuration file. Sometimes if the configuration file has incorrect or unsupported values the CM will go offline rather than into "reject" mode on the CMTS.

I had the same problem

I wish Motorola would have bought out Arris instead of the other way around. The Surfboard modems just work, Arris changes things on a weekly basis and messes everything up.
Try adding this to your modem config file:
VendorSpecific =
VendorID = 00.00.CA (ARRIS)
SnmpMib = arrisCmDoc30SetupRCPBypass.0 enable

We have 4 frequencies low and 4 frequencies high, Arris modems need to be told about this spectrum split, or they don't work at all. They don't try to bond to only 4 downstreams, they just quit.
We have 820a's and 860s, they both do the same thing.

I always have 3 bonding groups on my 8 channel areas, one is 8 channel, the other 2 are 4 channel, one with the 4 lowers, the other with the 4 uppers. The Arris modems will not connect to them. I've seen a few of them connect, but not in wideband. Other times they just keep cycling.

You don't have to tell me that! I fought my company to get them that way, but lost. I'm 96mhz apart from my lowest carrier to the highest carrier!
Not only don't some modems like that, keeping the signal at the back of the modem within reasonable levels is quite a challenge!
